They are $1299 right now and IMO offer the best blend of chassis size, performance, nifty features and future upgrades along with just plain great performance. If you can wait a few weeks get a MSI Apache GE62 which has much much better cooling and an even faster GPU that can handle new games at high settings (GTX 965M) This particular laptop doesn't have the best fan though. I have an MSI Apache Pro with a Core i7 4710HQ 8GB (1 stick) RAM and a 2GB GTX 860M (Maxwell based which is the better version) and I can play brand new games at 1080P at med-high settings above 30FPS but I usually drop the settings to med to get my fps in the 50+ range. For some people GeForce GTX 1050 will be the best choice. This is still true for the GTX 860M but expect 25% performance gain from a GTX 765M Other parts of your build may also need to be upgraded, save some money for the CPU or power supply. I have a 760m and so far i have been able to play most of my games at 1080p at high settings and ultra for older games.
